One of the biggest challenges we have as coaches is
how to include our
goalkeepers into team practices and give everyone the training that they
need. Most coaches are much more comfortable managing the field
players and leaving the responsibility of training the goalkeepers to
the specialists.
But what if you don’t have a goalkeeper coach? Even
if you do, it’s important to have the goalkeeper train with the team
often, whether for tactical reasons or to improve team chemistry.
Team Training for the
Goalkeeper will show you
how to integrate your goalkeeper into
team training sessions! This doesn’t mean that the goalkeepers simply
perform the same drills as the field players. The drills, exercises and
small-sided games in
this book show you how to train the unique skills
of the goalkeeper within the context of the team environment.
